I have a pocket pc what is the best GPS software?

I have a HP iPAQ rx3715 Pocket PC. What is the best GPS system for your handheld?

You need a GPS receiver and GPS software for your Pocket PC. You do not need a broadband connection as GPS signals are available for anyone with a GPS receiver. It is a matter of personal opinion on what the GPS receiver and software are the best. Microsoft maps for the PC pocket will not route voice guidance turn by turn. I learned the hard way to purchase the product. I use iguidance (http://www.inavcorp.com) for software and I am very happy with it, and use of a receiver Holux (do a yahoo search and find is quite popular GPS manufacturer and very expensive) through bluetooth to my UTStarcom PPC 6700. Both products should work with your iPAQ. Recently, I've been playing with Yahoo oneSearch has mapping software as part of the package, you still need a GPS receiver, but in this case you need a wireless broadband connection or wireless connection, such as the iPAQ is a PDA may not be a practical solution. Hope this helps.

5 Of The Greatest Reasons For Purchasing Bluetooth GPS

<p>

Global Positioning System technology is insinuating itself into many aspects of our lives, from how we get around to the social networks in which we interact. Technologies such as wifi and bluetooth had begin to replace the wire that bind our devices, so they are increasing becoming wireless. A device without gps capability,bluetooth GPS receiver is considered to have great benefits to experience new technology with extra overhead

* Bluetooth GPS technology is wireless. Unlike infrared and other predecessors, bluetooth devices don’t require strict line of sight to maintain connections. Rather, devices networked in this manner can function in separate rooms, through walls, at distances up to 15 meters.

* Bluetooth GPS is very sensitive. GPS technology suffered from severe limitations in the past. It was not uncommon for GPS devices to simply lose their fixes on their tracked satellites under trees, awnings or even in pockets. Many of these limitations have vanished as GPS recivers become increasingly sensitive and they now acquire fixes even inside building, albiet less accurate data than would be gotten outside.

One of the cellular technologies that enhance devices is Bluetooth GPS. For as low as $100, you can buy a small bluetooth GPS receiver that gets connected and receives fixes from your pocket or backpack. Battery life is often comparable to that of cell phones, and they weigh even less. The device is so small that you’ll likely forget that you’re carrying it, yet it unlocks large new areas of capability for anything with which it is networked.

* Turn your PDA into a full navigation platform. Though many PDAs give bluetooth connectivity and enough storage capacity to store GPS software and maps, they don’t offer internal GPS receivers. You can experience GPS tecnology in a package that competes well with stand alone units instead of purchasing a bluetooth GPS reciever for Your PDAand required software, this has a difference of a fraction of the cost. Bluetooth GPS can be added if PDA meets these requirements. You’ll have the power of GPS technology with you whereever your PDA may be, so no need to purchase another large device.

While this may not initially seem like a huge advantage, you may reconsider when you find yourself easily consulting maps and getting directions without fumbling with another larger device.

* Bring GPS to your older phone. While GPS receivers are becoming increasingly more common in cell phones, some still don’t include this technology, instead relying on less accurate means to locate your position. When combined with cellular internet more intersting possibilities becomes available via blutooth GPS, this offers many of the same benefits as pda GPS connectivity. Social networks are incorporating geolocation only to help your friends to locate you faster which is not the case with verbal directions. Cell phone GPS data also can be used by websites to provide more relevant, location-sensitive information, nearby restaurants and businesses receiving priority in search results for instance.

With this bluetooth GPS data, 911 services can automatically know the location of your call without you needing to tell them the address.
